Circular Economy Research & Advisory
ReuseAbility is a circular economy research and advisory firm. We are dedicated to providing mission-driven stakeholders with the information and tools they need to accelerate the transition from linearity to circularity.
ReuseAbility works to accelerate the transition from linear to circular systems. We work across the full spectrum of industries and solutions. Our rigorous research, analysis, and modeling informs better decision making and helps stakeholders design, implement, and fund reuse systems or advocate for practical policy interventions.
Everything we do improves environmental, social, and economic systems.
We work to repair systems as a whole, not just symptoms, to create lasting change.
We believe that more voices lead to better solutions.
Solutions need to work for everyone and must be inclusive and accessible to the communities they serve.
We are realists who recognize that solutions must be designed to succeed within the current economic paradigm.
We work with clients to create practical, usable outputs. Our specialties include conducting rigorous primary and secondary research to answer specific questions, developing financial or environmental estimates where data is sparse, and creating tools to facilitate decision-making.

We built ReuseAbility to be the kind of partners we'd want to work with: approachable, transparent, and priced for the organizations doing the most important work in this space.
We work primarily with mission-driven organizations and aim to make our services accessible to them. We keep our overhead low and our fees grounded in the value we deliver.
We take the time needed to get a project done right and set realistic expectations from the start. We're straightforward about timelines, scope, and any surprises along the way.
The best results come from working together. We work best as true partners by sharing what we know, being honest about what we don't, and keeping clients close throughout the process. When it makes sense, we find strategic partners who can lend specific knowledge or expertise to improve project outcomes.
We collaborate with students and recent graduates when possible to provide them with real, paid experience while bringing fresh thinking to our work.
Our clients range from entrepreneurs building a reuse business from scratch to established organizations redesigning systems that have been single-use for decades.
ReuseAbility was founded by practitioners who have worked inside reuse systems, policy processes, and environmental research — not just studied them from the outside.
Rich Grousset
Principal & Co-Founder
Rich founded ReuseAbility to fill a persistent gap in the circular economy space: rigorous, evidence-based research and modeling built for the organizations actually implementing change. His work sits at the intersection of environmental policy, quantitative modeling, and hands-on reuse systems experience. He has designed carbon footprint and material flow models for packaging and reuse programs, contributed to EPR policy development in Colorado and California, and participated in developing national reuse standards through the PR3/Resolve working groups. He has also worked inside the reuse sector as an operator — running university and workplace reuse pilots and serving as VP of Sustainability at Re:Dish — giving him fluency in these systems from the inside out.

Julia Marsh
Principal & Co-Founder
Julia brings a rare combination of policy fluency, environmental analysis, and grant development to ReuseAbility's work. She has led consulting projects for global clients including the UN Environment Programme, built policy impact models for local governments evaluating foodservice packaging interventions, and secured more than $250,000 in federal and private funding for reuse program implementation. Earlier in her career, she worked at Eunomia Research & Consulting advising corporate, nonprofit, and government clients on waste management and circular economy strategy, and at Calvert Research and Management on ESG engagement and proxy voting. She grounds every project in rigorous methodology while keeping outputs practical and decision-ready for the stakeholders who need them most.
